A 50-year-old woman used a PayPal account to steal $540,000 from her employer over a 6-year-period, authorities said.
Melissa Corso instructed customers of the company, which developed software and hardware technologies for video surveillance, to submit payments through PayPayl, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey said in a statement. The PayPal account was linked to her work email address, home address in Closter and phone number.
The company, which was not named in a federal complaint was based in Delaware but had an office in Ridgefield Park. Two others Corso’s husband and another employee helped her but neither was named in the complaint.
