Scholarship established in memory of slain Lima teen
LIMA Efforts are underway to establish a scholarship in memory of a 16-year-old Lima Senior High School student who was shot and killed Nov. 18 in the 300 block of South Scott Street.
Lima police have made no arrests. Family members were told it was a case of self-defense on the shooter’s part. Police aren’t saying much officially about the case.
Mekhi “Khi” Williams had planned on becoming a nurse one day and serve his country in the Air Force.
Williams’ cousin, sixth-ward Lima councilman Derry Glenn, announced Sunday the establishment of the scholarship through the Lima Community Foundation.
