San Antonio Fiesta fans will be weighed down by medals and the heat this year as the party plans for a June restart.
The Fiesta Commission unveiled the 2021 official schedule on Tuesday, signaling confidence that the 10-day celebration will take place after months of cancelations and uncertainty due to the pandemic.
The return comes with a new challenger for even the most experienced party people. Along with battling lines for portable toilets, parking and beer spills, they will take on the scorching San Antonio summer for a chicken on a stick.
Even the biggest NIOSA necias are feeling a little nervous about the heat, though they might not admit it. Fiesta always happens in April and even that can be a doozy ask any high school band member who has had to walk the 2.5 mile route in full uniform, fuzzy hat included.
