Coming off the team’s recent 245-55 blowout victory over Central Connecticut State, the UConn women’s swim and dive team will get ready to close out their regular season at home against the Providence College Friars.
On Friday, the UConn swim and dive team returned home for their first meet at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium since Oct. 21 to face off against Central Connecticut.
The Huskies took early wins in the 500y freestyle and 400y medley relay on day one and never looked back, coasting to a first-place finish with a team score of 1572.5.
The Huskies are coming off a close loss against Big East rival Villanova on Oct. 21. The deciding factor was the 1.56 second loss to the Wildcats in the 200-yard freestyle relay that secured a 154-146 victory for Villanova.
This past Thursday at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs, Connecticut, the UConn swimming and diving team got their feet wet in their season opener. The meeting was between Connecticut and in-state rivals Southern Connecticut State, a squad that already participated in four meets, yet has only a single win to their name.
