Nelson Cheng and his wife Leslie immigrated to the United States from Taiwan in 1978 in search of a better life for the family they knew they’d have.
They soon found it, realizing the American Dream by working in restaurants in suburban New York City and then North Jersey, and having two children. In the mid 1980s, work brought them to Hamilton, and in 1989, Nelson bought the Carvel ice cream shop in Yardville.
