THE FATHER of missing chef Claudia Lawrence, who disappeared nearly 12 years ago, has died without finding out what happened to his daughter
Peter Lawrence OBE passed away last Thursday aged 74 in St Leonard s Hospice, in York, North Yorks, following a short illness.

A statement from the family s spokesperson Martin Dales said they were saddened that Peter never found out what happened to his daughter despite his tireless efforts .

A CONVICTED Islamic terrorist was last night on the verge of winning a 27-year legal fight to remain in Britain as a “refugee”.
Yasser Al-Sirri, 58, first claimed asylum in 1994 after being sentenced to death in Egypt for plotting to murder its PM.

He was turned down in 2000 and has since taken his case to court eight or more times, costing taxpayers at least £2million in legal bills, staff costs and court time.
Al-Sirri, who has been living in London, posted photos of IS suicide bombers on social media and kept explosives manuals at his home.

HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a dad who died after falling through an icy curling pond while trying to rescue his dog.
Iain Morrell passed away after plunging into the freezing waters of the pond in the grounds of Kinneil House in Bo ness, near Falkirk, Scotland, on Friday.

Emergency services, including a special operations ambulance team and helicopter, were scrambled to the pond.
Iain was recovered from the water by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but sadly passed away.
