A former flight attendant is gaining a huge following on TikTok for sharing amusing content that sheds light on her previous occupation.
Plane stories: Sandra Jeenie Kwon, who quit her job as a flight attendant for the Dubai-based Emirates Airlines 10 years ago, is now entertaining over 3.7 million followers on TikTok under the handle @jeenie.weenie.
In an interview with In The Know, Kwon shared that she was working for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts when two girls she met at a party urged her to apply as a flight attendant for Emirates.
Kwon was hired but decided to quit two and a half years later to return to college and finish her bachelor’s degree in business.
“But why do you want to learn Chinese so bad?”
“Because I’m Chinese, and why am I Chinese if I don’t know how to learn Chinese?” Mikayla responds.
“If Poh Poh and Gung Gung (maternal grandfather and grandmother) speak Chinese and we don’t know how to speak Chinese…”

The video ends with Mikayla saying she really wants to speak Chinese
“because it’s fun,” and she wants to speak like her grandparents.
