Kohima, Nov. 25 (EMN): The Phek District Basketball Association (PDBA) supported by Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA) on Friday conducted a referee clinic-cum- training at D Khel ground, Kohima village. PDBA president Surhoneyi Soho informed that nine trainees turned up at the referee clinic-cum-training programme. NBA vice president Medozhatuo Rutsa including officials from PDBA and NBA conducted the training programme. Later, PDBA felicitated Aggi Tunyi from Phek district, who was part of Nagaland basketball team which won silver medal at the recently concluded 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022.

Whuorie expressed gratitude for reposing faith on him and his new team of office bearers for the tenure 2022-25 to look after their affairs. He also congratulated the outgoing KCCI executive team for successfully completing their tenure and bringing the association thus far despite difficulties due to COVID-19 pandemic. Our Correspondent Kohima, Aug. 21 (EMN): The Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) on Sunday launched jerseys for both the men’s and women’s teams to represent the district in the 2nd edition of Nagaland Olympic. Vice president KDBA, Medozhatuo Rutsa, launched the jerseys for team Kohima in the presence of players and officials here at Vivid Lounge. He thanked the government of Nagaland and Nagaland Olympic Association for creating a platform for Naga youth in sports. He further requested the government to encourage sports so that Olympians are produced from the state in the future. Rutsa also said that there is a career in sports in Nagaland and urged players to keep on playing while maintaining discipline and also grab the opportunity that comes in their way.
