SMEs: Even small tax cuts help

PETALING JAYA: The tax cut for small and medium enterprises (SME) would help ease the cost of doing business, says an apex business chamber. The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) president Tan Sri Low Kian Chuan said that SMEs would enjoy a lower preferential tax rate of 15%, which is a 2% cut from 17% currently for the first chargeable income of RM100,000.
