Lawrence, john stewart, a special shout out to our very own Margaret Miller who has spent much of the last seven years of her life helping make this dream come true. applause so, thank you, thank you, and truly happy new year to all. Thanks. applause thank you, jeff. So, this is, again, one of those San Francisco moments, right . We dont do things easy and we want to do things that are pushing the envelope. And one of the things that were pushing the envelope on is trying to look at how we provide for the services for the families. And one of the things that this unique to this development is that we have the campaign for hope sf. And this is a campaign which is whose goal is to raise 25 million for funding of what they would call transformative or disruptive social services for the residents. The goal is to help the city overall do thing better, to find new things, to new services to provide, and to really transform the lives of the residents of today and tomorrow. As the mayor said,

Whenever this plea came into discussion, the prosecutors first question was, will they sign a waiver giving up all rights to sue the state of arkansas . People ask, and i have any reservations, or dont have to fight with myself to come to the decision to accept that . You just know, because i was dying. I was dying very quickly. There were times when i was so sick i literally didnt think i was going to make it to the next morning. So i knew if i didnt take that deal i was going to die. They couldve easily stretched his case out another five to 10 years. They could have constantly asked for extensions. I would have died. Has anybody from the state of arkansas or the county in which you were prosecuted, anybody come close to saying to you, we know you didnt do it, and by the way, we are really sorry we did this to you for 18 years .
