Former president Jacob Zuma has been granted leave to appeal the Pretoria high court ruling that the decision to place him on medical parole was invalid and unlawful.
The High Court in South Africa has ruled that the former president be allowed to appeal a decision setting aside medical parole. Last week it was decided he should return to jail.
Former president Jacob Zuma's lawyers are arguing that he is being punished for a decision that he did not take regarding his release on medical parole.
