COVID-19: Telangana faces shortage of black fungus drug, cases rise to 48 By ANI|   Posted by Neha  |   Published: 16th May 2021 11:05 pm IST Representative Image Hyderabad: The rising cases of mucormycosis or black fungus amongst COVID-19 patients, and shortage of necessary drugs required for the treatment have become a matter of concern in Telangana. So far 48 cases of the fungal infection caused by the steroid administered in the treatment of COVID-19 infection have been reported in the state. Telangana Director of Medical Education Dr Ramesh Reddy said there are four cases of black fungus reported in Gandhi Hospital. “However, there are no deaths reported due to black fungus in the state,” Reddy said.

7 out of 1,200 people who returned from UK test COVID-19 positive in Telangana ANI | Updated: Dec 25, 2020 01:02 IST Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 25 (ANI): Seven people out of 1,200 who came from the UK to Telangana since December 9 have tested positive for COVID-19. Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender held a review meeting with senior officials of the department on the steps being taken in the state in the wake of global concerns with the new virus strain. Officials informed the minister that 1,200 air passengers had returned to Telangana from UK and via UK from December 9 till date, and out of them Covid-19 tests were done on 846 persons with seven testing positive for the virus.
