that perhaps it was not. he recruited lawyers to go in to visually every precinct in new york to be sure that the election is fair we ll see how it boils down. can you believer it? cannot wait, michael steele and ben ginsberg. tuned in this wednesday live at the university of nevada, las vegas, 9:00 p.m. at eastern and followed by late night coverage with our post debate team. again, it is the third and final one. donald trump says he s the victim and the women accusing him of sexual misconducts are part of the media conspiracy, we ll talk with the trump s adviser why he s lashing out of his victims and another week of
allegations, as he denies them he says number one we re all part of this, part of a media conspiracy to bring these women forward to say these things. these women have said their names to attach to this. and then he said look at them. if i were going to do this, these tarnt women i would do it too. because they are unattractive. ladies, i see that and i think if you re looking to expand your tent that s not the way to do it. he tweeted this morning. knees that something is up. he tweeted that polls show large numbers of women are leaving him for something he didn t know. but 44% of women have experienced unwanted sexual contact at some point in their lives so this strikes home for a lot of women. he s not losing gop women in droves. they are sticking with him for partisan reasons. the polls show he s losing women. she s not hot enough defense i don t think is a good one and
votes? reporter: you know, the second part of your question is trickier. to the first part, is this something he will continue to emphasize? yeah, i think so. based on his actions just this morning when he tweeted out that saturday night live is part of the rigged media conspiracy against him. if his actions over the last 24 hours are any indication, yes, i think when he gets back out on the campaign trail later this week, he is down today but resumes campaigning tomorrow, then i think we will see this message. here is why. because it plays to his base. it rallies his supporters. that is the strategy the trump campaign is deploying, play to the base, get trump supporters riled up. in turn, try to do things that will depress turnout on the democratic side according to one source close to the campaign. that s the strategy with which they are playing at this point. chuck todd talked with mike pence about this earlier this morning. listen to what they had to say. governor, you keep s
left-wing media conspiracy. that s kind of like the last couple days, talking about how the clinton machine and the left-wing media are all now in in league with i think he threw in some international bankers yesterday and it s this global conspiracy. you know, look, if you are a politician, who has a one of the things you want to do is discredit independent sources of news, because it s a rival source of information for your supporters and trump has been doing that for more than a year, to the point where a lot of trump supporters if you go to rallies simply don t believe anything they read in the press anymore. he s done a good job of discrediting mainstream journalists in the eyes of his people. and he has sort of been reduced to this core of support, this 30% to 40% of the electorate that has stuck
acting as witnesses for themselves and the public is making their minds adding up the women s accounts of being, you know, groped or attacked or just, you know, inappropriately approached by donald trump. and then at the same time, you have donald trump talking over and over again on these various tapes about his sexual prowess. enjoying over years, you know, this reputation as a billionaire playboy. and, again, i think what s what i m focusing on is the political ramifications of this, every day donald trump is talking about this, defending himself against this, what he is doing is getting this narrative going about a media conspiracy against him. which is something that his core supporters are responding to. but if you look at the polls, both nationally and in the swing states, it s not helping him expand his support among the voters that he needs.
