Salina Media Connection will be able to retain over $29,000 worth of equipment after approval by the Salina City Commission Monday.
As part of the city s termination of SMC s contract to broadcast city meetings and events, the access cable network is allowed to keep items and assets that it can show were purchased with funds outside that of the city s funding for the station.
City Manager Mike Schrage said city staff met with SMC and its legal counsel on Friday, July 23, and SMC asked for the city to expedite the process of reviewing the assets, which is what prompted city staff to place an item on the commission s agenda Monday.
