After a quiet month in December with just nine building permits issued in Mountain Home for a total construction value of $1.4 million, activity has come roaring back. Information just released from the City of Mountain Home indicates 26 permits were issued in January with a construction value of almost $16 million, according to a report from Jeannie Anderson from the Building Inspection Department.
Three of the permits have construction values in excess of $1 million. The three were
– a remodel permit issued to Gregory Company on behalf of Baxter Healthcare, located at 1900 Arkansas Highway 201 North, for a 48,000-square-foot project with a construction value of $8 million;
The state of Arkansas has given more than 64% of its allocated COVID-19 vaccinations, but is lagging in the inoculations to long-term care facility residents. As of Monday afternoon, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) says it has given 241,617 doses out of the 337,350 received by the state, an increase of 2,649 from Sunday.
The long-term care inoculations the federal government has contracted with providers CVS and Walgreens pharmacies, gave just two shots and have only administered 6,985 of the 49,400 allocated doses.
Arkansas remains in Phase 1B, which is open to those ages 70-and-over, teachers and school staff, childcare and higher education workers.
Residents of Baxter and Marion counties wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine must sign up for a waiting list with participating local pharmacies.
