MATTHEWS, N.C. A Mecklenburg County man is speaking out for the first time after filing a federal lawsuit against his former employer claiming he found a noose at his job site. The discovery came after the worker said he had multiple racist interactions with co-workers.
Stevie Lamont Stuckes is suing Pike Enterprises, which runs Pike Electric, a North Carolina-based company that assists utility companies with electric and gas services.

2021 municipal elections will likely be delayed in North Carolina.
Census data isn’t ready yet, meaning new districts can’t be drawn.
“We won’t stop our campaign over here. We want to keep going strong,” says Charlotte City Council at-large candidate Curtis Hayes Jr.
It’s been a month since Hayes announced his bid.
Hayes plans to keep his campaign going, even though there may no longer be an election this year.
“We will continue to fight this journey all the way until they open it up,” he says.
That might not be until 2022.
By law, each district must have an even number of voters.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. The COVID-19 vaccine is hitting the streets in Mecklenburg County.
WCNC Charlotte has learned the Mecklenburg County Health Department is using so-called ‘strike teams’ to vaccinate people out in the community.
The strike teams aren’t going to individual homes, but they are going to some places in the community where people wouldn’t be vaccinated otherwise.
