Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve receives $1M donation

CHICO, Calif. – Chico State University’s Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve (BCCER) received a $1 million donation, the largest cash gift ever for the reserve.
The BCCER provides a diverse habitat for hundreds of species of plants and animals, a living laboratory for the curious and impassioned, and miles of trail recreation for the ambitious.

Professor Emeritus Wes Dempsey, his wife, Phyllis, and their family made the donation to create an endowment to support education programs for land stewardship and conservation efforts.
