On Friday, June 11, 2021, at approximately 3:50 p.m., firefighters from Charles and St. Mary's County responded to 13370 Ryceville Road in Mechanicsville, for the reported structure on fire.
On March 7, 2021, at approximately 8:30 a.m., deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the reported armed suicidal subject, located in the 40000 block of Dockser Drive in Mechanicsville.

No immediate threat is currently posed to the public or residents in the area, however, police are asking all citizens to avoid the area, walking in the area, and to shelter in place inside of your residence.
UPDATE at 10:25 a.m: Alert from St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office – Expect a lot of police presence in the Golden Beach area from Therese Circle to the end of Dockser Drive due to an ongoing investigation.

Charlotte Ann Faunce Cox, (Cissy), 64, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at MedStar St. Mary s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. She was the second child born to Helen C. Faunce and the late, John B. Faunce on January 6, 1957 at St. Mary s Hospital.
Cissy grew up on Cremona Farm and had wonderful childhood memories with her siblings that she often looked back on. Friends and relatives would visit and crab feast were guaranteed every weekend in the summer. Cissy graduated from Chopticon High School and went to work for the Department of Education and worked as an Administrative Assistant and then a Legal Secretary for most of her career. She met many kind and wonderful people who became her lifelong friends.
