State Fire Marshal gives local fire departments $40k for communications systems Daniel Susco © Provided by Dayton Daily News Four departments respond to two-alarm fire in Greenville Smaller fire departments in three area counties have been awarded more than $40,000 total in grants to pay for systems, equipment or services to use as part of the Multi-Agency Radio Communications System. MARCS is the state’s wireless digital communication system for local, state and federal agencies and first responders. ICYMI: State Fire Marshal Kevin S. Reardon announced the first round recipients of the 2021 MARCS grant, improving communication for 240 FDs in 45 counties. Round two awardees will be announced in late January.
