The recent rise in measles cases across the nation during the first quarter of 2024 "represents a renewed threat to the U.S. elimination status," according to a recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC, so far a total of 64 measles cases have been registered nationwide, more than a total of 58 cases reported for all of last year.
Measles is so contagious that if one person has it, the CDC says up to 90 percent of people close to that person who are not immune will also become infected.
