Ernest McPherson, a homeless man in Meadow Lake, Sask., has been recognized with a Queen's Platinum Jubilee medal for his efforts to patrol the streets at night in search of other homeless people who may be freezing to death.
A homeless man in northern Saskatchewan says his near-death experience last winter makes him too afraid to fall asleep outside on a cold night. So Ernest McPherson has taken it upon himself to check on other homeless people to make sure they stay awake and alive.
