HYDERABAD: D Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of TSTRANSCO and TSGENCO, said on Monday that the power utilities were completely prepared to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the state, amid the Covid second wave hitting the country.
The CMD held a review meeting with senior officials from TSTRANSCO and TSGENCO at Vidyut Soudha, as per Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao s instructions.
To reduce downtime during the period, all Zonal and Circle Heads were given orders to open control rooms in their respective offices in TSGENCO and TSTRANSCO to attend to any emergencies that might arise. He also said that Covid-19 protocols should be implemented to protect power sector workers and their families.

Taking multiple precautionary measures against the spread of Covid during the second wave of the pandemic, Telangana power utilities have geared up to ensure 24x7 power supply to its consumers.
Following the directions of the State government, D Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of TSTransco and TSGenco conducted a review meeting today at Vidyut Soudha and assured that power supply will be maintained 24x7 throughout the State, even during the second wave of Corona virus pandemic.

Chairman and Managing Director of TS-Genco and TS-Transco D. Prabhakar Rao on Monday said the power utilities in the State were fully prepared to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the ongoing surge in COVID-19 cases.
At a review meeting held here, he said they would ensure continuous power supply throughout the State irrespective of the impact of COVID. He reviewed the company-wise preparedness in order to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
A control room was established in the Transco headquarters at Vidyut Soudha. He instructed all zonal and circle heads to open control rooms in their offices and to attend to the emergencies by minimising the downtime. He also asked the officials to take necessary precautions as per COVID-19 protocol in the utilities as also in the families of employees.

Hyderabad: The Coronavirus pandemic has badly attacked staff at the power utilities in the state. Nearly 700 employees working in TS Transco, TS Genco, the northern and southern distribution companies (TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL) have tested positive for Covid so far, as per official statistics.
Data show that 113 employees working in TS Genco, 30 in TS Transco, 328 in TSSPDCL and 306 in TSNPDCL have contracted the Coronavirus from April 1 to 22.

Hyderabad: A massive Mumbai-type power outage was averted in Telangana after the Central Electricity Authority alerted the Telangana government that the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In) has suspected that Chinese hackers may target TS Transco and TS Genco.
According to ToI report, Chinese hackers’ groups allegedly targeted Telangana State Load Dispatch Centre (TSLDC), however, the cyber attack was successfully thwarted by the state government agencies.
On receiving information from a trusted source about a China-based groups command and control servers trying to communicate with systems belonging to the TSLDC, TS Transco and TS Genco were alerted and asked to take adequate measures.
