Member of Maryland National Guard in Gaithersburg Competes for Best Warrior
Sgt. James McGill, a radiology specialist with the 224th Medical Company Area Support in Gaithersburg, competed in the Maryland National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition. The multi-day marathon includes mental and physicals tests, “pushing these elite service members to their limits.”
The March 11 to March 14 event was open to junior enlisted, noncommissioned officers and commissioned officers of the Maryland Army and Air National Guard. During the competition, McGill participated in the 12-mile ruck at the H. Steven Blum Military Reservation in Glen Arm, Maryland on March 11.
McGill said, “I love competing with the best of the best. Right now in the Maryland National Guard, we have some of the top competitors in the country.”
