The Delhi-NCR region recorded maximum heatwave days in the month of April after 11 years. The maximum temperature is expected to rise further from April 28.
Delhi witnessed cloudy skies and light rainfall on Thursday, bringing down the temperature by five to eight notches. The maximum temperature stood at 35.2 degrees Celsius in the Safdarjung area.
The weather department has predicted light rainfall with strong winds for the next 48 hours in Delhi. But the heatwave is likely to continue in the national capital.
With the arrival of the western disturbance, the temperature slightly dipped in the national capital on Tuesday. While the maximum temperature stood at 39.5 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was at 22.5 degrees Celsius.
