TRUSSVILLE The McPherson Companies, Inc. (McPherson Oil) leading distributor of petroleum products, commemorates its 50 th anniversary in 2021.  The company was founded by Charles (Mac) K. McPherson, Sr. in 1971 in Oneonta, AL. Starting as a rural fuel jobber, McPherson Oil quickly grew into the lubricant business and is now one of the largest oil and gas distributors in the Southeast. The company continued to grow and expand into new markets over the past 50 years and today is one of the largest, independent lubricant, fuel, and fleet card distributors in the country. In the early days McPherson Oil operated with less than 20 employees and has grown to over 200 employees in six states with over 11 locations with headquarters located in Trussville, AL.
