PUTRAJAYA, Jan 17 Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi today explained that starting November 2016, the cooking oil subsidy is only for one kilogramme polybag packaging.
He said the implementation was made through the Cooking Oil Stabilisation Scheme (COSS).
“The purpose of the government to maintain the subsidy for cooking oil in one kg packet is to ensure that the people can still get the supply of cooking oil for household use at an affordable price of RM2.50 per kg,” he said in a statement today.

BUTTERWORTH, Jan 17 The Apollo Market here has been ordered to close for seven days starting tomorrow due to non-compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Seberang Perai Utara district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said in an integrated operation with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Seberang Perai City Council, to monitor the SOPs compliance, found the market was too crowded making it difficult to practice physical distancing.
