TEMPLE, TX â The Temple Police Department is investigating a suspicious device found in the 800 block of N 31st Street.
Out of an abundance of caution, Temple PD placed Temple High School under lockout.
The Temple Police Department is responding to a suspicious device call in the 800 block of N 31st Street. Out of precaution, Temple High School was placed under a lock down and surrounding streets have been shut down. Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes. TEMPLE, Texas The McLennan County Bomb Squad safely removed a suspicious device Tuesday that was found not far from Temple High School.
Police said they were called to the Bell County Public Health District Clinical Services office in the 800 block of N. 31st St. around 11:30 a.m. An officer at the scene said the building was evacuated.
As police investigated, Temple Independent School District spokesman Christian Hernandez said Temple High School was placed on a lockout. A lockout means classes continued as normal but no one was allowed inside.
