The ICU nurse, who’s often found herself at the forefront of caring for patients with COVID-19, said the rush of attention caught her by surprise. “I never thought it would really get more attention. I was just doing it for associates and friends and coworkers,” not for any acclaim, said the married mother of two, who lives in Fauquier County. “It took off to such a level, nationally and internationally.”
