Suspect arrested in May 2 shooting death
A 29-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting another man as he slept in his car, according to court documents filed Tuesday.
The preliminary charge of murder against Tony Jackson comes almost three months after Daniel Nolan, 33, was found in his car near Hanna and Oxford streets about 6 a.m. May 2.
The nearly four-page probable cause affidavit written by Fort Wayne police detective Luke MacDonald describes the hours leading to Nolan s homicide, including a 3 a.m. argument at a north-side strip club and friends efforts to get him home.
Fort Wayne police interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed videos from numerous sources to piece together the events.

Project puts life into vision for south side
Well before a welcome announcement last week that a multimillion dollar mixed-use development is slated for Fort Wayne s southeast side, residents, business owners, community leaders and elected officials were working to find ways to improve the historically neglected area.
The Southeast Strategy, adopted by the city in January, is an update to a 2007 plan for development in the area. The culmination of about two years of planning and input, it calls for needed upgrades in housing, more emphasis on economic development and placemaking – strengthening connections among residents through planning, development and design.
