CANTON It was one of the most dazzling culinary creations ever placed in front of me at a restaurant.
The smoked salmon avocado toast at 330 Bar & Grill, inside the DoubleTree By Hilton hotel in downtown Canton, was as artfully assembled as a floral arrangement but its pleasures were more than visual.
My friend and I, trying out the weekend brunch menu at 330, marveled at the flavors of this edible sculpture, which we carefully sliced in half. For starters, the toast is Norcia Bakery s Italian bread. Among the layered flavors were salty smoked salmon, a soft-yolk poached egg, mashed fresh avocado, cream cheese, cucumber-tomato relish, microgreens for texture and garnish, and pickled onions whose acidity brightened everything. It was $13, and I d happily order it again.
