Mocs Beat Samford For First SoCon Victory Of Season Jean-Baptiste, Smith Combine For 43 Points In Chattanooga s 73-68 Win Saturday Wednesday, January 6, 2021 - by John Hunt It appears that there will not be any easy wins for the Chattanooga Mocs when we’re talking about Southern Conference games and that was certainly the case at McKenzie Arena Wednesday night. The Mocs were impressive in winning their first nine non-conference games, but had fallen on hard times in close losses to Furman and VMI to begin league play. The Samford Bulldogs provided the opposition in this latest battle and the Mocs were able to pull out a 73-68 victory, improving to 10-2 overall and 1-2 in SoCon action.  Samford falls to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Georgia Has 68 More COVID Deaths And A Record 8,551 New Cases Thursday, December 31, 2020 Georgia state health officials reported on Thursday there have been 68 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 9,872. McCallie School Announces School Delay With Virtual Classes Beginning Jan. 11; On-Campus Classes Set To Start Jan. 19 Thursday, December 31, 2020 McCallie officials announce classes will not resume until Jan. 11 and will be virtual for the week.  On-campus classes will resume Jan. 19.  The following letter was sent to students and parents from the school administration: Students and Parents –   With COVID-19 numbers continuing high in our area, and on the advice of public health officials, we have made adjustments to the schedule for January.      On-campus classes will not resume until Tuesday, January 19. There will be no classes the week of January 4 as previously announced, and no athletic or extracurricular activities will be held until on-campus classes resume.
