The YMCA, with support from the Maddox Foundation and the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, has announced a Capital Campaign to raise $18 million in financial support to construct and operate a full-service, state-of-the-art YMCA in Hernando, Mississippi.
The 1.5-mile stretch includes a 5 -lane connector from Hernando, Mississippi, to Tennessee line. The goal is to ease traffic on I-269, I-55, and Hernando streets.

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss A Michigan woman is behind bars in Desoto County, accused of crashing into a squad car and other vehicles, and leading deputies on a chase.
44-year-old Stacey Guiltner is charged with several felonies, including aggravated assault on law enforcement, felony fleeing, and auto theft.
Investigators said it all started about 1:00 p.m. Tuesday when DeSoto County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop the driver of a car - stolen in Michigan - in the Hernando Walmart parking lot.
The driver, later identified as Guiltner, took off, hitting a patrol car and an unmarked car. Investigators said she then hit a passenger van in the parking lot and another vehicle at the Walmart gas pumps.

HERNANDO, Miss. (WMC) - A woman is in DeSoto County Jail after she allegedly hit a patrol car while leading police on a chase, according to the DeSoto County Sheriffâs Department.

While trying to avoid deputies, she hit a patrol car, an unmarked vehicle, a passenger van and a vehicle at the gas station nearby.
