SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) California Gov. Gavin Newsom s administration on Tuesday tapped a former federal prosecutor to help investigate billions of dollars in fraudulent unemployment benefits paid by the state.
The Employment Development Department and the governor s Office of Emergency Services Fraud Task Force have named McGregor W. Scott as “fraud special counsel.” The agencies said Scott will work with law enforcement to combat fraud and prosecute people acc
