Sunderland 1-2 Charlton Athletic
Sunderland left it too late to prevent their 14-match unbeaten run from coming to an end at the Stadium of Light.
Charlton, who remain firmly in the hunt for a top six spot, took advantage of a disappointing afternoon for the Black Cats by scoring a goal in each half to seal the points.
Even though Josh Scowen, who had unfortunately found his own net just after the half hour mark, pulled one back with 13 minutes remaining, Alex Gilbeyâs strike in the 61st minute proved to be the winner.
Sunderland must now regroup and try to finish the last seven matches in style after losing ground on leaders Hull City and second-placed Peterborough United.
