Coronavirus vaccine delivered Wednesday

MACOMB McDonough District Hospital President Brian Dietz confirmed that 205 doses of coronavirus vaccine were delivered Wednesday. He said that Health Department Emergency Response Coordinator Ben Thompson, accompanied by a McDonough County Sheriff s deputy, delivered the vaccine at 12:30 p.m. and medical personnel began getting their shots at around 2 p.m., with a Macomb police officer present at all inoculations.
Dietz said at least 70 shots were given the first day. He said Dr. Jack McPherson was the first to be inoculated, followed by Chief Medical Officer Ed Card. He said shots would continue through Friday and on Saturday if necessary. In addition to those at MDH, shots will be given to personnel in doctors offices.
