Harrison Park Elementary School in the Penn-Trafford School District will be closed until Monday due to two active covid cases in the building, according to a statement from Superintendent Matthew Harris.
Students will learn from home Thursday and Friday.
One student and one staff member tested positive for coronavirus within the last two weeks. The student case was reported Wednesday evening.
The decision to close the school was made in accordance with guidelines from the state Department of Health and Department of Education, according to Harris.

The Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area had 63 confirmed new covid cases in the last six days, a slight dip from the week prior, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Since the pandemic began in March, the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities have seen a total of 1,549 confirmed cases as of Jan. 19, up from 1,486 on Jan. 13.
Residents of these six ZIP codes have taken a total of 9,025 coronavirus tests, 16.5% of which were positive. Since Jan. 7, 296 tests were administered, 21.3% of which were positive.
