We are still considering many submissions received both during and after the recent community consultation on Wingham’s CBD masterplan.
“While we were hoping to report to Council on the masterplan at this week’s Council meeting, we are now expecting to report to the following meeting on 28 July 2021,” said Council’s Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services, Rob Scott.
“This is to allow time for us to fully consider every submission, and to have follow up meetings and conversations with those who have expressed concerns about the concept plans presented to the community during April and May this this year.”

A road reconstruction of a 300 metre section of Isabella Street Wingham will be undertaken commencing late May, providing safety improvements for this stretch and a smoother driving surface for motorists.
Tenders are being called for the works between the Dennes and Primrose Street intersections, and are being funded by the NSW Government in association with Council as part of the $100M Road Upgrade package.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said these projects are important to maintain safe roads in our towns.
“Providing safer driving conditions on busy streets in our towns is an important priority,” Mr Bromhead said. “That’s why the NSW Government continues to invest in important projects like this, which will deliver a smoother drive for road users and safer towns for residents.”
MidCoast Council’s project to revamp Wingham is well underway, with construction starting on the roadside drainage near the town centre.
Work will continue for the next six weeks and will include resurfacing the McCullagh Lane car park and replacing kerbs and gutters.
Council hopes this will free up parking spots in the main streets of Wingham.
Primrose Street will be closed, with detours in place.
