we d be here until 7:30 if we went through all the people s lives who were if not ruined dramatically altered by the heinous nature of donald trump s character as the country s commander in chief. so whatever the mccabes get back today, no one gets back the years or the careers that donald trump costs them. does that make sense? you know what s the most painful about watching this, nicole, and hearing your interview with andrew mccabe is thinking about the legion of career bureaucrats who experienced, if not as painful an experience as the mccabe family, something akin to it. vindman lieutenant colonel vindman is one but there are dozens, as you said, and in terms of the cost, think about the chill that this sent through the entire apparatus of the federal government. a president was hounding an fbi, at that time, acting director, whose one crime, apparently, was
integrity so i understand they made a call. i appreciate that. what i fear for my country, forget parties, for my country is a precedent where somebody can make the law and kneecap a duly elected president and face absolutely no consequences for it. what are the consequences? he got a book deal. is he doing fantastic for himself. there are no consequences for my fellow brethren and it tells this community my god, what is to prevent that from happening again today? nothing. nothing. steve: bryan dean, what do you think the perception is people looking in three letter agencies like the fbi or the cia? i think what you are going to hear and what have you heard in the past couple years is a call to disband. steve: too much power. yeah, exactly. i understand why someone might make that argument after they see people like the comeys and the brennans and the mccabes and strzoks and page and all the rest of that disaster. it makes sense that people would say these people have
very interested in the abuses that i ve seen. mr. horwitz did a pretty good report, but nobody s looking at the fisa war and peace. i certainly will be doing that. harris: james, of course, senator lindsey graham talking about the horwitz ig inspector paired the report that came out of the bipartisan response was that that s a place to get some of the answers. your response? there are institutional shortcomings of investigations. it would be a long shelf i went into it. the short version is this it s better than a political process. it s a little more professional. there are still open questions, whatever your politics, that are fair questions about how the fbi conducted itself. the fisa process, the manipulation of media. again, i have a lot of friends at the fbi and a lot of rank and file that would like to see it, too. there was a poor school class. the macomb es, mccabes, the peter strzok for less. they were doing things at the rank and file don t do. we need to have some day
online. necklaces and an earring set only worn once. need money to pay bills because of the government shutdown. today we met the family of air traffic controller paul stearns. he continues to work with no pay. and in his line of work they don t need the stress. when we re in the tower, we want to be focused on the aircraft and the operation and the safety of the passengers. that s our number one goal. reporter: the mccabes tell a familiar story. how they called the mortgage company asking for help and got none. they said we re really sorry that you re going through this, but you have 30 days to get your payment in full and after 30 days we report you to the creditors. just incredible. steve from atlanta again tonight. the mccabe family was told they are not getting help, the creditors are being told in 30 days. we do know that some companies lpouo lp es affteby the shutdown. that is right. bank of america and wells fargo for examples are modifying loans and toyota is offerin
