prices going up, deductibles going up. people cannot afford if they can afford the premiums, they can t afford the deductibles. in my county in the fourth district of ohio no plans are offered in the exchange right now. cbo first told us there would be 21 million people on obamacare today. there are 9. okay. so so you don t like 10, 14, 16, about this issue. donald trump yesterday, at 3:00, lied and went out there and said under this plan the premiums will go down. you know that there is no chance premiums are going down except for the cruz amendment. the house bill did not have anything that represented chances of premiums going down. they had a chance maybe of premiums going up by less but not down. i don t always agree with what cbo says. do you think they re in the wrong direction. people with our bill, with the mcarthur amendment and what
a month later on april 25th, the mcarthur amendment is added to the bill allowing states to opt out of many of the requirements, including the essential health benefits that were central to every single policy under obamacare. the amendment helped woe the hardliners who opposed the bill. it ultimately passed the house on may 4th and everybody went to the white house to celebrate. that s what you re looking at right there. celebrating at the white house rose garden. that was just the house. let s turn to the senate and see what happened there. it unveiled its version of the bill less than a month ago on june 27. 22nd. i m sorry. a mere five days later on the 27th of june, speaker mcconnell delayed the vote as it became clear that the votes were not there yet. late last weekend an updated version of the bill was introduced which ckept many obamacare taxes and cruz amendment. it appears the compromises were not enough and as of today the bill is dead for now. for more, i want to bring in
before voteing? well, look, i think that s always a good thing to. we have the score prior and knew the tweaks would improve as they did by it appears a million or so and knew it would have an impact on budget savings but we did have a score on the bill until the last kind of what they call the mcarthur amendment was added. we can see the impact of that and now the senate has all the information in front of them. they are going through their own process. it s in their own end and it s how the bill becomes a law from the old schoolhouse law and if the senate can t pass anything we ve got to go back to where we ve been. an estimated 51 people here in the united states under the age of 65 would be uninsured compared with 28 million who would lack insurance that year uder current law, the obamacare law. those numbers don t worry you? well, look, you re always
yumts f premiums for the year could go up to $25,000. they are not on board with this. one of your objections today do with cost for seniors. how do you scare that? again, if you look at the safe guards put in there with the mcarthur amendment, preskgsipreskg preexisting conditions were locked in. they couldn t go up further than what the law would allow. if there s no lapse. if there s no lapse. if there is no lapse in coverage. but 30 million people could go into that lapse of 63 days between having insurance and getting well, you will always hear that story out there. if you heard before, with the affordable care act, you know, our prices were going down on our premiums. you can keep your doctors. so there s a lot of jockeying out there in advertising, false advertising. and then if you heard the cbo talking about how many people were going to be covered with the affordable care act, they anticipated 24 million people signi signing up.
