MANSEHRA: A British-era bridge, which links the historic Baffa town with the rest of the district, was repaired and renovated to restore its former glory.
“This bridge, which is built in 1931 at Siran River, had lost its past glory because of broken iron railing erected on its two sides and it needed an immediate repair, therefore, we spent funds from the local funds to preserve this historic piece of our heritage,” Mazhar Muzafar Awan, the tehsil municipal administrator, Baffa-Pakhal, told reporters here.
He added the Siran Bridge had developed cracks due to flooding, which had been repaired.
“We have also imposed a ban on lifting of sands and gravel from nearby this bridge from the Siran river to protect it,” said Awan.
