these financial statements. pointing to even the amount of cash that the trump organization had on hand. the size of donald trump s apartment, and its subsequent value. and also the value of some golf courses. now mazars also says that they are not saying that you shouldn t rely all on the statements. they re not saying there s material discrepancies in the totality of the statements but they re saying they should not be relied on. so, you know, they also said in this filing that they quit. that they re not going to do any further work, and they cite for that reason an unwaivable conflict of interest. they don t say what that is but we know mazars has been cooperating and that the partner that has been the main liaison with the trump organization has been before the grand jury, part of the criminal investigation, so that could be one of the conflicts here. they ve declined any additional comment on that. the trump organization issued a statement in response to this. they received this
where a company s accounting firm says you should no longer rely on these records and tell everyone else not to rely on them. this came about because it was filed in a court filing as part of the new york attorney general s investigation into the trump organization and its finances. and this letter from mazars to the trump organization was sent last week and they go through a couple of reasons how they came to this conclusion. they said they have done their own internal investigation, and they re citing some of letitia james, the new york ag s findings. she published last month these allegations, multiple misstatements and omissions in the financial statements including the amount of cash the trump organization had on hand and the size of donald trump s apartment. so those are part of the reasons here. they said they have not concluded this is mazars on the whole that the financial statements are materially inaccurate, they re saying because of all these reasons they don t think people
was performed in accordance with all applicable rules. but they do not contain any material discrepancies. it renders the investigations by the da and the ag moot. so they re trying to take it as saying they didn t say there were material discrepancies because that s what this investigation will turn on. but mazars say, don t rely on our statements. makes you wonder what due diligence they ghid did in prep those. a federal judge has ordered the jury in georgia to be sequestered in the hate crimes trial of ahmaud arbery s killers. this order says it s to protect the jury from trial publicity, extraneous influences and harassment and to ensure defendants a fair trial. the three defendants, gregory mcmichael, his son travis and their neighbor william roddie bryan were convicted in a state trial in november of murdering arbery. they pleaded not guilty in this federal trial. cnn s ryan young joins us with
of last month. this was after a judge here in new york allowed this civil lawsuit to proceed. i know, max, the palace isn t commenting on this settlement specifically, but given everything that the queen has already done, how she s responded in the past, what does his future look like? what does he do now? it s difficult to imagine. as you say, he doesn t get public funding anymore. he s been stripped of his titles. doesn t represent the queen. he s got a small military pension. he s selling his ski chalet, according to various reports. to pay for all of this. you wonder where the money for the settlement is going to come from. can t imagine the queen want to be associated with the case by paying for it. i think the only option really at the moment for him is to maybe get some support from the queen. then go out and get a private sector job or borrow some money from the private sector. the one advantage of not having an hrh title is he is now able to go out and get work from the priv
