On May 26, Masheke was elected Young Alumni Trustee from the Class of 2023 at the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Council. The election process was marked by contention about campaign restrictions and low voter turnout.

45.41 percent of the senior class voted in the primary election. Out of the 23 candidates who participated in the primary election, Kirby, Masheke, and Takeuchi will be continuing on, with one of them serving a four-year term on the University’s Board of Trustees.
The Senate also approved spending for events and discussed scooters and bikes on campus. A first vote on a proposed constitutional amendment was approved unanimously.
