Gaza's hospitals stopped functioning as the war continued and almost all medical supplies were exhausted. International aid still falls short of demand and Israel continues to obstruct it. The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip has become a health disaster due to the Israeli "aggression" Palestinian surgeon Bashir al-Hourani, who helps run a field hospital set up inside a school in central Gaza, has only gauze and iodine disinfectant to treat those referred from hospitals.
