A PATIENT who was sent for rehabilitation at a Winchester hotel during the height of the Covid pandemic died after his medication was increased, an inquest heard. Fahed Dinawi was admitted to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester when he had accidentally taken an overdose of paracetamol and was later sent to Basingstoke hospital for ongoing back pain. Mr Dinawi had been suffering with severe back pain for a number of years, but surgery was not an option as he had been operated on in 2017 for lumbar spine. At an inquest into Mr Dinawi’s death at Winchester Coroner’s Court, consultant orthopaedic surgeon Christopher Bailey said that the hospital looked at ways to manage his pain.
