Poppy Martin has achieved almost every conceivable award as a sea cadet. The 18-year-old is one of only six in the country to be made a first sea lord cadet at a ceremony onboard HMS Victory. As a voice for all sea cadets she has represented them at a range of conferences and events. Having joined up in 2015 aged just 13 she has gained a plethora of skills in first aid and catering. The former Upper Shirley High School pupil also boasts boating qualifications including coxswain, power boating and kayaking. She got involved, having been inspired by her mum who was also once a cadet.
