Deputies and a city employee were called to a home in Eden around 8:40pm
An altercation ensured after deputies made contact with people at the home
The situation quickly escalated and witnesses reported hearing 9 or 10 gunshots
A standoff lasted 30 minutes before the suspect in the shooting was arrested
Jeffrey Nicholas, 28, was arrested without further incident on two counts of capital murder of a peace officer - he is being held on $4 million bond
No motive has been given for the shooting at this point in time
Neighbors complained of vicious dogs in the area, though Nicholas claimed at one point that the dogs did not belong to him
