The sun was shining on Westside Park for the grand opening Wednesday of a sundial, reflection garden and labyrinth made possible by three generous donations to Yankton.
The city of Yankton has announced that City Finance Officer Al Viereck will be retiring.
Viereck has served in the role since 1998 and will be working with Mayor Stephanie Moser and the City Commission to set an official date for his retirement as well as a transition plan.
