Despite recent rainfall, the Mississippi River remains low at Kimmswick. The town had hoped the new port would bring fresh tourism, but they, like many places along the river, have been victims of the drought.
The annual Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick is typically attended by more than 100,000 over its two days, and this year’s festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28-29.
