“We’re grateful that Uber has decided to partner with us to make sure that all residents will be able to safely travel to and from our vaccination sites once we enter Phase 1B and begin administering shots to a broader set of our population,” Mayor Steven Fulop said in a statement.
“Providing free direct access to the citywide sites helps alleviate any concerns over travel costs and exposure on crowded mass transit, and will ultimately encourage more residents to get vaccinated early.”

Hudson County Democratic Chair joins Team Fulop ×
Hudson County Democratic Organization Chair Amy DeGise will join Mayor Steven Fulop’s ticket and run for City Council at-Large in this year’s upcoming citywide election.
A lifelong Jersey City resident, public school teacher, and former elected member of the Jersey City Board of Education, DeGise won a contested election to become the first woman to lead the county party in 2018.
“Amy DeGise has established herself both here in Jersey City and throughout the state as a dynamic leader who cares deeply about issues that impact middle-class families day in and day out,” Fulop said. “As a lifelong resident of Jersey City who has seen the progress our community has made up close, an educator, and a leader in our Democratic Party, Amy brings a valuable perspective that will make her an asset both in the campaign and on the city council. “Mayor Fulop governed JC in 2020 as a Chris Christie-esque triangulator. He avoided serious police reforms. He treated Black Lives Matter as a political problem to solve instead of an opportunity for progressive governance. He cynically waited the activists out while pretending to care about their concerns,” Solomon said during a Reddit AMA this afternoon.
“He passed an affordable housing ordinance that’s significantly weaker than all similar ordinances in New Jersey. He embraced ‘reopening’ from COVID instead of following clear public health guidance such as throwing up his hands over the cases during the Thanksgiving holiday. That right-of-center agenda is exactly what Councilman Boggiano supports so their deal is not a surprise to me.”

“I’ve never met another public official who is as tenacious a defender of his neighborhood and what makes it special than Rich Boggiano, and I’m excited to have him officially join our team and strengthen our ticket heading into next year’s election,” Fulop said in a statement.
“By working together instead of opposing each other Rich and I can do much more to move Ward C forward, like making major improvements to Pershing Field, partnering with the County of Hudson to build a new Journal Square park and working with neighborhood advocates to build a world class performing arts space at the landmark Loews Theater. I’m glad that we were both able to put the past behind us and move forward together.”
