Flood relief measures needed in Johnstown

Flood relief measures are needed in Johnstown village, on the outskirts of Naas.
Naas Mayor Fintan Brett says action needs to be taken at the junction where Johnstown meets the Punchestown Road.
Kildare County Council has agreed to investigate the flooding issue at that location and will conclude out the necessary remedial works this year subject to funding being available.

Age friendly parking space on the cards for Naas square
Issue discussed at council meeting
Reporter: );
An age friendly parking space looks likely to be provided at Poplar Square.
The square has been largely pedestrianised since last year a move which was opposed by some traders in the area.
“Naas is supposed to be an age friendly town and the loss of parking spaces in Poplar Square means that an age friendly space is needed,” Cllr Anne Breen told a recent Naas Municipal District meeting.
According to Kildare County Council, two age friendly spaces were designated in consultation with councillors and Kildare County Council’s age friendly officer.
Naas road works
Road works are scheduled for a rural road outside Naas.
Naas Mayor Fintan Brett sought repair work to the turf bog road from the four crossroads in Kilteel to its junction with the Rathcoole Road, near the PDM premises in Kill.
Kildare County Council say that the road is included for resurfacing in the draft roadworks programme for this year.
